A Message From JBA on Racial Justice and Equity
The brutal murder of George Floyd by a police officer sworn to protect and serve has ignited national resolve to end systemic racism in all its manifestations. We echo national public and private sector leaders and countless members of the public in denouncing the horrific acts of violence perpetrated against the Black community and the pervasive bias fueling these acts.
For more than four decades, JBA has stood for equal justice under the law; inalienable human rights; and equal opportunity regardless of race, ethnicity, cultural heritage, or gender identity. We will recommit ourselves to working to improve the lives of children, families, and communities—a mission that won’t ignore the reality of the Black experience. We will strengthen our focus on community-engaged evaluation approaches to lift underrepresented voices, and we will integrate into our research and analysis the historical and structural contexts that affect racial equity.
