JBA’s Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
JBA is continuing to monitor and respond to the evolving public health crisis caused by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. We are committed to protecting our employees and the public while serving our clients. To date, our actions have focused on the following:
- We have asked all staff based in our Arlington, VA, office to work remotely until further notice. All staff have secure, up-to-date hardware and software and technologies for file sharing and communication, and they are following longstanding protocols for the protection of data. Many of our staff already work off site from locations across the country. This has therefore been a seamless transition with minimal impact on our operations.
- We have suspended all work travel until further notice. We have advised staff to conduct meetings and site visits using virtual technologies such as webinars when appropriate.
- We understand that our clients and the children, families, and communities they serve are being affected by this crisis. We will remain in close communication with clients to ensure that we understand and meet their changing needs during this time of disruption.
- Perhaps most importantly, we have advised all staff to follow the latest guidance of public health and government officials at the federal, state, and local levels to slow the spread of the virus and its impact on our health care system, known as “flattening the curve.” That includes guidance on hand washing, social distancing, curtailed gatherings, and other measures. We all have a vital role to play in protecting our communities, especially those who are at increased risk due to age or underlying health conditions.
More than ever, we remain dedicated to our mission of improving the lives of children, families, and communities, and we are grateful to our colleagues for sharing that dedication. We will communicate further in the days ahead as circumstances require.
