Building capacity in evaluation can strengthen home visiting services and improve outcomes for pregnant women, children, and families.

This project provides technical assistance and training to Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program awardees in performance measurement, continuous quality improvement, evaluation, and program implementation. The support helps home visiting programs sustain services and address critical and evolving priorities, including needs driven by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through implementation of a National Coordinating Center, the project brings MIECHV awardees together in a shared evaluation approach that harnesses and builds on their strengths. The Center aligns evaluation designs and measurement strategies, sparks peer learning and collective impact, facilitates data pooling, and develops the ability to generalize and compare findings across evaluations.

JBA’s role on TARC builds on two previous projects that helped MIECHV awardees expand the evidence base on home visiting, improve programs, and share knowledge: Design Options for Home Visiting Evaluation and Support for Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program Awardees to Build Capacity for Performance Measurement and Continuous Quality Improvement.
