Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation helps promote healthy social-emotional growth in young children by bolstering skills and knowledge among the adults in their lives.
Consultants often work with early childhood professionals so they can better address families’ mental health concerns and strengthen parent-child interactions in their daily work.
This brief highlights three states’ efforts to implement Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation in home visiting programs:
- Illinois
- Michigan
- Wisconsin
It also highlights two local projects, the Kent County Nurse-Family Partnership and Children’s Wisconsin home visiting programs, and potential sources of federal funding support.
